Where is the Illinois River Road?
Traversing both east and west sides of the Illinois River from Ottawa, 150 miles south to Havana, the Illinois River Road has spurs to the communities of Princeton and Canton. The Illinois River Road corridor has over 100 natural and historic sites and numerous unique communities located throughout its 10-county region.

The Scenic Byway is conveniently located between Chicago and St. Louis, but just far enough to get away from it all. So get off the beaten path and see what the Illinois River Road has in store for you!

Bass Pro Shop
1000 Bass Pro Shops Drive, East Peoria, IL 61611

All Bass Pro Shops are known for their visual dynamics; however, our 150,000 sq ft store simply awes the masses from the moment they cross the threshold. In fact, photo ops abound inside and out. Entering our lobby begins your experience with a hunting lodge that holds both state and world record mounts such as the Mel Johnson, record typical buck, boasting both the Pope and Young and the Boone and Crockett awards. A virtual plethora of mounts, antiques, our massive fireplace and comfortable seating await you there as well. We even have a Caterpillar D2 lifted atop the turnstile pergola!

Once you depart the lobby, while you stand there, wide-eyed and looking around, make sure to look up. Here in this two story opening, you’ll find grand murals depicting the Illinois landscape. Between Starved Rock at one end and an enormous waterfall in Garden of the Gods at the other, you’ll find the short grass prairie complete with full bison mounts nestled among native grasses and lifted atop outcroppings, an authentic covered wagon, a true to size Lincoln log cabin surrounded by deer leaping over split rail fences and so very, very much more.

Have you ever watched a duck, goose or turkey come in for a landing? From the ceiling-suspended mounts in this open story, you can spend time inspecting each aspect of the turn and dissension as all parts of the process are finely crafted and detailed in their order.
