Traversing both east and west sides of the Illinois River from Ottawa, 150 miles south to Havana, the Illinois River Road has spurs to the communities of Princeton and Canton. The Illinois River Road corridor has over 100 natural and historic sites and numerous unique communities located throughout its 10-county region.

The Scenic Byway is conveniently located between Chicago and St. Louis, but just far enough to get away from it all. So get off the beaten path and see what the Illinois River Road has in store for you!

Streator Tourism will hold its Third Annual Pluto Fest on Saturday July 1st from 10 - 4 at the Streator City Park. The festival features a Homebrew Tasting hosted by local club ALES. Musical entertainment offered by Radium City Rebels with their 50’s style Rock n’ Roll/ Rockabilly sounds. The event also features the acoustic sounds of newcomer cover artist Hunter Edwards. Crafters and vendors will display their wares along with food vendors; Pico de Gallo, Country Girl Catering, Cruisin’ Concessions and BS Dinky Donuts providing tasty selections. Streator Downtown Farmers Market will offer goods from 9 – 1. Pluto items such as t-shirts, stamps, pint glasses and a limited number of special edition stainless steel Pluto ornaments will be available to purchase and visitors should be sure to check out the many items offered at the raffle tables. Kids can enjoy face painting and cool magic tricks by Mark the Magician. Dare2Care-Buddy’s Purpose & Dusty Roads will be joining along with the Billboard Ambulance and information on Drug Awareness. A special highlight this year will be the reveal of the much-anticipated Pluto Sculpture before it is moved to its permanent home at Anderson Field. The sculpture was a collaborative effort between the City of Streator, Streator Tourism and Streator Dependable Mfg. Sponsors for Pluto Fest include Streator Tourism, ALES, How You Brewin - Streator, Tangled Roots- Ottawa, Streator Dependable and Anthony Liftgate – Pontiac.
